Bosnia and Herzegovina

Bosnia and Herzegovina is a country in Southeast Europe, on the Balkan Peninsula. It is bordered by Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro. It has a population of about 3.3 million people and its capital is Sarajevo. It is a member of the United Nations, the Council of Europe and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe. It is also an applicant for European Union membership.

My comments

In 93 to 95 , i flew there several time, by plane with a Ilioutchine -76 T,  Super Puma and Alize , it was a nice experience flying during this unfortunately war time in ex-Yugoslavia, But at that time it was my work. Among other i was assigned in Ancona , to maintain the logistic for French army and fly with a plane sometimes to sarajevo to give some food fo the population there. It was a little bit funny

the plane was chartered by sweden, piloted by members of the baltic countries and the kerosene paid for by countries of the united arab emirates (if i remember well). but the pilots paid at that time 100 dollars per month, during a flight going to sarajevo suffered a burst of Kalashnikov and asked for an increase in salt for the dangerousness of the ferry, and they obtained 100 percent :-).

I also had in this time to do a weightless flight for a few seconds with a super puma during a mission going to the Montenegrin coast 

I also had the privilege for different mission to make landings and catapults (9) of the present aircraft carrier, to make surveillance rails along the ex-Yugolsavian coast

Also in my duties as logistician of the French Navy in Ancona (Italy), I had to send money from a bank in cash to the purser of the TCD <Orage> calling at Ancona. millions of liras at that time, that I therefore transferred this money to the purser. the day after this transfer I received a call from the French consulate asking me that the bank was asking if I had not received too much money. I replied that if I had had this extra money, I would not say so. :-). How banks don't always know what they do with your money :-)
